Photos: Pair of elk wandering Lakewood relocated near Evergreen

DENVER (KDVR) — Two young bull elk who were “hanging out in Lakewood all week” have been relocated by Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Northeast Region.

CPW Northeast Region said in a post on X Friday that its wildlife officers darted and relocated the pair of elk on Wednesday. The elk were released near Evergreen, according to the agency.

CPW Northeast Region said the wildlife officers waited until the heat died down so as not to stress out the two elk, before “finally” catching up with them near a golf course.
