A new wildfire has started burning on a mountainside about 1/2-mile north of the North Fork of the South Platte River, and 1/4-mile west of Foxton Road.
According to a Facebook post from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the fire is burning in a remote area and there are no evacuations ordered at this time. The Elk Creek Fire Protection District has ordered the Douglas County Sheriff’s helicopter.
