DENVER (KDVR) — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stopped over 100 speeding drivers after deploying increased patrols for speeding, set up in response to drivers going 100 miles per hour or faster.
The sheriff’s office said that it has clocked drivers at speeds, including:
- 103 mph
- 116 mph
- 143 mph
- 172 mph
“If you’re tempted to treat Hwy 285 like a racetrack, remember this: tickets will be written, vehicles might be impounded, and even a ride to jail is possible. Save your money and your reputation. Drive smart today and every day,” said the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in a post on X.

On Friday, the sheriff’s office sent out its speed saturation patrol to Highway 285, where the team made 102 stops and issued 101 summonses.
