In a decisive strike against the violent criminal organization known as Tren de Aragua (TdA), the District of Colorado’s U.S. Attorney’s Office has unveiled two federal indictments charging 30 individuals with a gamut of serious offenses. The charges, as detailed by the U.S. Department of Justice, include drug trafficking, murder-for-hire, and firearms crimes.
Following a nine-month investigation focusing on an apartment complex in Denver, a federal grand jury indicted 28 people with involvement in firearms trafficking, drug-related violence, and more. Contained within the indictment, five are facing charges specifically for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire. In the operation, ATF officers, having targeted the Denver area that was afflicted by an increase in violent crime and drugs, recovered a cache of 69 firearms, some of which were automatic machine guns linked to various local crimes.
The indictments don’t stop there. Two additional individuals, Luis Fernando Uribe-Torrealba and Luis Henriquez-Charaima, were charged separately with a mix of six counts relating to firearms and controlled substance trafficking, as well as carjacking and conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire.
