Neighbors say vacant Swansea home has become hub for crime

DENVER (KDVR) — A vacant home in Denver’s Swansea neighborhood has neighbors on edge, who say it’s turned into a haven for crime.

The small house on Fillmore Street between 45th Avenue and 46th Avenue has been empty for more than a year. But residents told FOX31 it’s been anything but quiet.

“It’s disgusting, it’s an eyesore to the neighborhood, it’s unsafe,” one neighbor said, asking not to be identified for safety reasons.

Neighbors said the property has been used as a drug house, a “chop shop” for stolen cars and a hangout for perceived gang members. At one point, the home even caught fire…
