Colorado park ranger fired after stabbing investigation found to be ‘elaborate hoax’

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) shared on Wednesday that the seasonal ranger involved in the August stabbing “hoax” was fired.

CPW said Callum Heskett, 26, was fired from Staunton State Park on Aug. 22.

The announcement comes several weeks after law enforcement said a stabbing investigation at Staunton State Park that prompted a multi-agency response was found to be “an elaborate hoax.”…
