2 Lakewood apartments ‘heavily damaged’ in fire: WMFR

DENVER (KDVR) — A pair of apartments in the city of Lakewood were “heavily” damaged during a fire on Saturday.

The fire was at an apartment building in the 1100 block of South Beach Drive in Lakewood, according to West Metro Fire Rescue, which said just after noon that multiple units were on scene.

One of the affected apartments suffered “significant” damage, while the other suffered smoke damage, according to the WMFR, which said smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

The agency said one resident was injured and treated at the scene by paramedics before being released. The cause of the fire is under investigation…
