Colorado Driver Allegedly Dragged 2 LEOs, Struck Multiple Patrol Vehicles After Hit-And-Run

A Colorado man is facing a slew of felony charges after a hit-and-run and pursuit led to a confrontation with law enforcement that left one officer injured and two patrol vehicles damaged.

The Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that the alleged crime spree began shortly after noon Saturday, Oct. 18, when the Idaho Springs Police Department (ISPD) responded to the parking lot of a Safeway store for a report that the driver of a dark gray Toyota Tacoma was “driving recklessly and harassing people.”

The Tacoma allegedly struck a vehicle in the parking lot and fled the scene, and the sheriff’s office responded to assist ISPD in locating the vehicle. The initial search was unsuccessful, but investigators determined the Tacoma was registered to 43-year-old Aaron Family and responded to his Dumont residence…
