Denver police announce initiative to target drivers with expired plates

The Denver Police Department has announced a new initiative that aims to address an obviously rampant problem involving vehicles with expired plates and expired temporary tags operating on Mile High City roads.

According to the police department, a targeted enforcement effort is set to take place from November 15 through December 15, with local vehicle owners encouraged to get their vehicles properly registered now to avoid the possibility of getting pulled over and receiving a citation. The initiative comes in response to expressed community concern related to violations of this nature. This is set to be Denver Police Department’s fifth one-month enforcement period of this nature since July of 2024.
