Family calls for justice in Aurora hit-and-run that killed loved one a year ago

DENVER (KDVR) — Loved ones of a 40-year-old man who died in a hit-and-run crash last year gathered on Saturday to call for accountability in the case.

On Nov. 15, 2024, Joseph Jones, 40, was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash before then being dragged by a Regional Transportation District bus bus in Aurora.

On Saturday, a year after the death of Jones, family, friends and community members all raised their voices together in a memorial walk to shine a light on his story.

“They’re living this grief out loud so that this tragedy doesn’t happen to me or you or someone any of us knows,” MiDian Shofner, a community activist and friend of Jones’s mother, said…
