WESTMINSTER, Colo. — The family of a 37-year-old Westminster mother says she endured more than 10 years of escalating domestic abuse before she was found dead near Willowbrook Park this week.
Annette Marie Valdez went missing over Thanksgiving, and police found her body on Dec. 4. The next day, police arrested her ex-partner, Thomas Perales, on suspicion of murder and violating a protection order the family says she had recently filed.
