VIDEO: Aurora Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Suspect in Armed Robbery on Iola Street

The Aurora Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect connected to an armed robbery that occurred in northwest Aurora last month. The Aurora Police Department, in a recent post on their social media channels, including a Facebook page, shared security footage and is asking anyone with information to step forward. The incident in question took place around 6:30 p.m. on November 8, when a man threatened employees with a firearm and demanded cash from two registers at a business located in the 1400 block of Iola Street.

Authorities have provided a description of the suspect as a Latino man, roughly 45 years of age, with a substantial build and a gray mustache. His attire during the time of the robbery included a blue beanie, sunglasses, a black hoodie, blue pants, mismatched gloves—one black and one gray—and he carried a black Nike backpack. The suspect was seen walking northbound towards East Colfax Avenue after committing the crime. It has been recommended to always take a cautious approach when approaching any individuals matching the suspect’s description and to immediately contact law enforcement.

Investigators have been canvassing the neighborhood around East Colfax Avenue and Havana Street, a known haunt of the suspect. Multiple locals in the vicinity have indicated familiarity with the man, yet his name remains unknown.
