Dozens of Jeffco Public Schools employees to lose their jobs due to budget cuts

GOLDEN, Colo. — About 50 Jeffco Public Schools employees learned this week that they will no longer have jobs after the current school year due to budget cuts.

The district said on its website that approximately 139 positions will be reduced from department budgets, 90 of them due to vacancies from retirement. About 50 employees were notified over the past week that their positions will be “discontinued” for the 2026-2027 school year.
