Cellphone left on charger blamed for fire that destroyed mobile home in Lakewood

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — An overheated cellphone battery is being blamed for a fire that destroyed a mobile home in Lakewood Saturday.

West Metro Fire Rescue posted on social media at around 2 p.m. Saturday that firefighters were on the scene of a fully involved mobile home fire in the 1400 block of Allison Street, near West Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard.

Crews managed to get the fire under control, but not before it destroyed the home…
