DENVER (KDVR) — Multiple arson charges have been formally filed in connection with a series of fires in Aurora.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said in a press release Monday that 30-year-old Michael Anthony Lopez was charged with:
- Fourth-Degree Arson (F2) (7 Counts)
- Fourth-Degree Arson (F4) (5 Counts)
- Second-Degree Arson (F4)
- Second-Degree Arson (F5)
- First-Degree Arson (F3) (2 Counts)
The fires occurred near East 16th Avenue and North Norfolk Street.

According to Aurora Fire Rescue, the fires involved vegetation, portable toilets, vehicles, and the exteriors and interiors of apartment buildings in the area.
“Lots of fires concentrated in one area that were all suspicious,” Aurora Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Eric Hurst said last week. “That nature certainly piqued the interest and curiosity of the firefighters and the police officers on scene.”…
