More details emerge on ‘serious’ ski crash at Keystone Resort, leaving Castle Rock woman in critical condition

The woman flown by Flight for Life to a Lakewood hospital Monday following what the resort called a “serious incident” is in critical condition, according to Jordan Vogel, a communications manager with St. Anthony Hospital.

Sandra Prokofi was involved in a skiing accident at Keystone Resort around noon Dec. 29, according to a Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputy’s report. A GoFundMe benefitting Prokofi and her family states she suffered a spinal injury. Updates on the page from a man identified as her brother state she underwent a successful surgery Dec. 30 but is now paralyzed from the neck down and remains on life support.

The GoFundMe has raised just under $40,000 of a $60,000 goal. It states the funds will be used to cover medical and travel costs and basic needs for Prokofi’s six children…
