Two suspects in custody after Westminster homicide in Wolff Run Park

DENVER (KDVR) — Two suspects are now in custody after a deadly shooting in the parking lot of Wolff Run Park in Westminster over the weekend.

The Westminster Police Department said Kenny Espinosa, 27, and Charity Johnson, 35, were arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder. This comes after police found a man in his late 20s dead with several gunshot wounds on Saturday morning.

Police were able to take Espinosa into custody on Tuesday after an hours-long pursuit that started with an attempted traffic stop on Interstate 70 and turned into a shooting between Eagle County Sheriff’s deputies and two suspects.

Espinosa was on the run before he was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, Johnson, who police said was a passenger, was taken into custody. The sheriff’s office said there were additional people found in the vehicle after the shooting, including minor children…
