Coroner identifies snowboarder who died after crash at Keystone

The Summit County Coroner’s Office has released the name of the man who died after a snowboarding crash at Keystone Resort on Jan. 19.

Coroner Amber Flenniken wrote in an email that the man was 32-year-old Aurora resident William Marcus Hunnicutt. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office had previously stated the snowboarder was a man from the Front Range.

The Sheriff’s Office’s news release about the crash stated Hunnicutt was riding with friends the afternoon of Jan. 19 on Lower Go Devil, a black-diamond run near the Mountain House West base area, when he crashed. The crash did not involve any trees, blunt objects or other people, according to the release, and Hunnicutt was wearing a helmet…
