Teen arrested in northeast Denver homicide case

DENVER — An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with a teenage girl’s shooting death Tuesday evening in Denver.

Denver Police said they received a 911 call from a home in the 5500 block of Tucson Street just after 5:30 p.m. According to the probable cause (PC) statement in the case, the 911 caller said he had gone to check on his laundry in the basement and found the victim in Jasirr Simmons’ bedroom dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

The 911 caller initially told dispatchers the victim had shot herself, police said. After conducting interviews and investigating further, police said Jasirr Simmons was identified as a possible suspect…
