DENVER (KDVR) — Colorado State Patrol is teaming up with Colorado Department of Transportation to crack down on drivers under the influence this Super Bowl weekend.
“We will have the regular troopers and the regular officers out there,” said Sgt. Ivan Alvarado with Colorado State Patrol. “We will have extra looking for the drunks.”

Alvarado said they will have the extra patrol, but don’t anticipate having any checkpoints. He said they treat Super Bowl weekend like a holiday weekend. Even with the Denver Broncos out of the big game, they know people will still be out celebrating.
“Everyone is going to find some place to go watch the game,” Alvarado said, “even if you aren’t interested in watching the Seahawks and Patriots playing, you might just be going to watch the commercials.”…
