The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) is asking for the public’s help finding information regarding the fire that broke out in the area of Highway 72 on Saturday.
In a Facebook post, the JCSO urges anyone who was in the area of Highway 72 around 8:15 a.m. on Saturday, who saw the fire start, the early stages of the fire, or has photos or videos of the incident, to call the Tipline at 303-271-5612.
The fire, now dubbed the Plainview Fire, began burning at Highway 93 and Highway 72, and grew to approximately 130 acres. The JCSO originally said that the fire appeared to have started along the railroad, but later said it was not related to the train tracks. There were no injuries or structures threatened during the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown…
