DENVER (KDVR) — The Cherry Creek Schools Board of Education announced several changes and investigations in the wake of the superintendent’s resignation and after his wife, the chief human resources officer, went on administrative leave.
In late January, the district’s superintendent, Chris Smith, announced his resignation and retirement. The board said Smith obtained legal counsel. Shortly after, his wife and the chief human resources officer, Brenda Smith, was placed on administrative leave, and the board said an internal investigation into her actions is underway.
While the board didn’t provide a further reason on why both left the district, other that Brenda’s leave was a “personnel matter,” the board is now speaking up about the matter and announcing changes in the district…
