GOLDEN, Colo. — A red heart glowed above Golden on Valentine’s Day, lighting up the mountainside where a stark white “M” normally shines.
The iconic letter perched on Mount Zion, long a symbol of pride for the Colorado School of Mines, softened into something more seasonal.
The transformation was orchestrated by members of the Mines Blue Key Honor Society, a student leadership organization entrusted with maintaining and occasionally redesigning the mountainside symbol.
