THORNTON, Colo. (KDVR) — A homeowner feels fortunate after footage, shared exclusively with FOX31, captured the massive flames heading towards his property in Thornton on Wednesday.
“You see it on the news all the time, but to see it in person, a totally different thing,” homeowner Al Padilla said as he walked FOX31 through what he now sees from the back of his home. “I got grandkids and they come and play out here. I can’t let them out here now.”

Padilla’s home surveillance shows flames growing higher than his fence line Wednesday afternoon.
“My son and the landscaping workers started grabbing buckets of water,” Padilla said. “We grabbed the hose and while pulling it, we sliced it, so neighbors started handing us hoses and helping us out trying to run with the water.”…
