DENVER (KDVR) — A school resource officer’s investigation into the disappearance of a Thornton school’s beloved emotional support cat led to his safe return back to the school earlier this month.
Students and staff began retracing steps and even shed tears in the hallways after Monty, the barn cat at Westgate Community School, mysteriously disappeared on Feb. 8, the Thornton Police Department said.

Police said the front office became the “Find Monty” command center, and Officer Duskey launched an investigation.
