Arvada cops and firefighters running toy drive for children in hospitals

Got spare stuffed animals no longer lining the walls of your childhood bedroom? Rocky Mountain Children’s Health Foundation (RMCHF) has a place for them.

Each year RMCHF — a nonprofit that provides financial resources to pediatric patients and families — gives hospitals stuffed animals for children to help with emotional comfort, long hospital stays or difficult treatments.

While the foundation usually has a significant doner of the stuffed toys, it does not this year, so the Arvada Fire Department and Arvada Police Department are scrounging together a friendly competition to raise stuffed animals…
