THORNTON, Colo. — A pet store in Thornton is being forced to close due to its history of tax problems.
The City of Thornton posted on Facebook Wednesday that it had closed the Pet Ranch store located in the Mission Trace Shopping Center at 120th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard.
The city said the business has a history of not meeting its tax obligations, including a prior license revocation for failure to file and pay tax returns in May 2025, and that it has a “substantial past due tax liability.” The city said despite efforts to work with the business owner since July of last year, the business has not met its tax obligations to the city…
