Officers responded after reports that someone was breaking windows while carrying an axe, the department said. Authorities reported no injuries and said the situation was contained without further incident. Police have not yet released the person’s name or said whether any charges have been filed.
In a post on X, the Denver Police Department said officers “responded to reports of a person with an axe breaking windows” and “placed the person into custody without further incident.” A reply to the post from a resident said they had not been alerted and described the scene as “only blocks from a school and across from a hospital.”
