DES MOINES, Iowa — Iowans are facing a stretch of active weather this week, with dangerous heat Tuesday followed by multiple chances for severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service in Des Moines.
A Heat Advisory is in effect Tuesday from 1 to 9 p.m. for much of Iowa. Forecasters say afternoon temperatures will climb into the low to mid-90s, with heat index values reaching 100 to 105 degrees in some areas.
