What Cheer Opera House Installs New Front Doors with Community Support

The What Cheer Opera House has completed a significant improvement project with the installation of new front doors, according to an announcement from the organization.

The new doors are fiberglass with a dark walnut finish and brass hardware, installed by Steffen Construction of Deep River. The previous doors, which had been in place since 2003, were purchased by West End Architectural Salvage in Des Moines.

The total project cost was $36,000, with $31,605 raised through generous community support. The Opera House extended its thanks to all donors who made the project possible, including the Keokuk County Community Endowment Foundation Grant, the What Cheer Community Club, the What Cheer Lions Club, Pam and Brian Krogmeier, the Donna Knipfer Memorial from the Knipfer Family, Martha Landers, Laura Walker-Ayala, Adriana Nicholson in honor of Larry Nicholson, Janice Tish, Mary Clarene Krumm, Beverly Dennis, donors who wished to remain anonymous, and all the patrons who support the Opera House year round…
