Mercy Health Sciences announces new strategic plan

Mercy College of Health Sciences has adopted a new five-year strategic plan that emphasizes enrollment growth, expansion of academic programs, workforce development and completion of its new nursing college as the Des Moines-based institution transitions from a college to a university.

For years, the institution at 928 Sixth Ave. has been known as Mercy College of Health Sciences. This fall, it will be known as Mercy Health Sciences University, a move that reflects plans to add graduate and professional nursing programs.
