ANKENY, Iowa — Two people were taken to other hospitals after becoming sick from a suspicious odor at a MercyOne Health facility, which has been temporarily closed.
At around 11 a.m. Thursday, the Ankeny police and fire departments responded to reports of people feeling ill due to a suspicious odor at the MercyOne facility located at 800 E 1st Street.

According to Sgt. Trevor McGraw with the APD, two people were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-serious injuries, while six others were evaluated on scene but declined further medical care.
