An 8-year-old trackstar from Delaware is making nationalheadlines after turning in record-breakingperformances at one of the country’s biggest youth athletic competitions.
Emeri “Da Boss” Cotton, a young sprinter from Bear, Delaware, captured two gold medals at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Des Moines, Iowa, while rewriting the record books in the 100-meter and 200-meter events.
Cotton won first place in both races in her agedivision, but her performance in the 100-meter dash made history. She crossed the finish line in 13.67 seconds, breaking the AAU Junior Olympic and national record previously held for three years.
The 8-year-old added another national record in the 200-meter race, further cementing her reputation as one of the fastest young sprinters in the country…
