DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines officials released survey results from a public budget calculator exercise intended to guide millions of dollars in planned budget cuts.
The city says it will need to cut roughly $12 million before the next fiscal year (FY28) and then another $5 million in the following year (FY29). The reductions are expected to result in job losses as well as cuts to city programs and services.
