DALLAS COUNTY, Iowa — A judge has denied Kristin Ramsey’s request for the Iowa Attorney General’s Office to provide additional evidence.

In April 2011, Ashley Okland was found shot dead inside a West Des Moines townhome where she was hosting an open house. Movement in the case stalled until March 2026, when a Dallas County grand jury indicted Kristin Ramsey on a first-degree murder charge.
Since the indictment, both Ramsey’s defense and the state had presented various motions to the court, including ones to dismiss the case, one to reduce her bond, and one saying evidence was mishandled.
