DES MOINES, Iowa — A former Iowa nurse accused of unlawfully obtaining prescription drugs has had her nursing license suspended.
In January of 2026, Holly Beavers was working at Prairie Vista Village in Altoona when she was arrested and accused of stealing patients’ medication and falsifying documents. Beavers was initially charged with three counts of unlawfully obtaining a prescription drug and one count of tampering with records.

According to court documents, Beavers entered an Alford guilty plea to one count of unlawfully obtaining a prescription drug. An Alford plea lets defendants maintain innocence while acknowledging the incriminating evidence against them.
