A Des Moines man is facing a Class C felony charge after authorities say he took a utility vehicle from Echo Valley Country Club in Norwalk.
According to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday, 50-year-old Christopher Allen Kirkman faces a first-degree theft charge involving property valued at more than $10,000.
The complaint says a witness saw Kirkman driving a John Deere Gator utility vehicle away from a fenced-in area at Echo Valley Country Club early Tuesday morning. Authorities allege Kirkman was spotted driving the stolen vehicle nearby and fled while ignoring commands from an officer. The complaint also says officers found hypodermic needles and a pipe used to ingest methamphetamine in Kirkman’s front pocket. Kirkman was taken into custody and booked into jail…
