Comedian Stephen Colbert suggests Kum & Go should become Kum & then maybe stay the night

By 2025, the 400 stores in the Kum & Go stable of convenience stores and gas stations will change to the Maverick name after the Utah-based gas station purchased the Des Moines-based company last year. Now comedian and late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert has thoughts on what to call Kum & Go instead.

Colbert suggested the convenience store chain Kum & Go should change its name to “Kum & then maybe stay the night.

“And the next morning you get breakfast and you find the conversation comes easily, not like with all the others, and you realize how much you have in common,” Colbert continued, stating his suggestion was “less dirty.”

“You both put peanut butter on your pancakes and you both think George was the best Beatle and before you know it, its Christmas 2062 and you’re surrounded by children and grandchildren thinking, ‘Man, I’m so lucky to have all this love in my life,'” he said. “‘I’m glad all those years ago I didn’t just Kum & Go.’

“Although, admittedly, that is a lot to fit on a sign,” the talk show host added.
