DES MOINES, Iowa – Law enforcement officials say the Des Moines Communication Center needs more workers as the number of emergency calls grows to near-record levels. The center is currently 7 to 9 dispatch workers short of the number they need, so they’re appropriately staffed to take calls and communicate information to police and other emergency responders.
