DES MOINES, Iowa – At least one person was hurt and more than 1,500 Des Moines residents were without power after a car crashed into a utility pole on Wednesday morning. Des Moines police warned Iowans about the crash on X, formerly known as Twitter just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday: “Report of utility pole sheared off. Please stay alert for first responders and left temporary traffic delays in this area.”
