DES MOINES, Iowa — Des Moines Police are looking for a suspect who broke into a home and tied up three people with duct tape in the Columbus Park neighborhood.
According to Sgt. Paul Parizek with the Des Moines Police Department a child called 911 at around 4:35 a.m. Wednesday and told dispatchers that someone had broken into their home in the 400 block of East Granger Avenue. Within about three minutes officers were on scene, but the suspect had already fled from the home.
According to Sgt. Paul Parizek with the Des Moines Police Department, the suspect was armed with a handgun and tied three adult women up with duct tape before stealing property. The two children inside were able to hide in a bedroom. No one was seriously injured.

Police are now asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect. They’re asking anyone who may have seen anything or has cameras in the Columbus Park neighborhood to contact the police department.
