On gambling, state claims ‘nothing to see here’
My understanding of the statement from the Iowa Department of Public Safety regarding the sports wagering investigation would be: We did nothing wrong. Our attorneys said we could do what we did. We’re good with the elite athletes we’ve chosen to impact and we’re good with the non-athletes we’ve chosen to give a pass. We targeted ISU and Iowa athletes and we’ve chosen to not tell you why. We didn’t bother to “enforce the law” in any of the other 58 Iowa colleges or universities and, in keeping with the governor’s “no comment” policy, we have chosen to not tell you why.
I feel confident that coaches Kevin Dresser and Tom Brands as well as the attorneys for the targeted athletes will speak to this issue. In the meantime, we don’t know why, and that’s the policy?

Get back to basics
Maybe now is the time to get back to basics in America.
Most of us are aware that we have one book(Bible) that may be considered our handbook on how to live our lives. My Bible is called the Saint Joseph Edition of the New America Bible, which I will reference.
