DES MOINES, Iowa – Sunday morning begins with areas of patchy dense fog across the state. Most of the fog is located over our western and northern counties where visibilities are under 1 mile just before sunrise. Freezing fog is possible in areas where temperatures are below freezing. Regarding sky conditions today, Sunday will likely begin mostly cloudy, but become partly cloudy later in the day as some drier air begins to move in from the east. We could see some patches of dense fog develop Monday morning. Where temperatures are below freezing, this fog could freeze on surfaces.
