Kenny and Bobbi McCaughey of Carlisle welcome their septuplets into the world. Two days after their birth, the Register on Nov. 21, 1997, reports that the world’s only surviving set of septuplets at that point ― four boys and three girls ― are doing just fine. It also lists the outpouring of support the family has received, including a house, a van, a lifetime supply of diapers and a year’s worth of groceries. The septuplets are now 26, and the Register still checks in on them periodically. They’re now having children of their own.
