This famous comedian dined at Bubba in Des Moines ahead of her show at Hoyt Sherman Place

Comedian Luenell ate an early dinner at Bubba , the Southern restaurant in downtown Des Moines, on Thursday night. The actress, who appeared in “A Star Is Born,” flew into Des Moines for her Friday night show at Hoyt Sherman Place.

“This place is fabulous,” she said during a livestream of her meal that she posted on Instagram. “Does it get popping later?”

She told her server, Parker Aurand, that she just flew into Des Moines from Las Vegas, where she has a residency at Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club. “We didn’t even go to the hotel yet,” she said.

Luenell ordered Southern favorites such as gumbo, frog legs, crab cakes, chicken poblano soup, and deviled eggs for appetizers.

She started with the Cadillac margaritas: “You can keep them coming until I tell you to stop because I have nothing to do today.”

Luenell noted that since she did not perform Thursday night, she could “eat, drink and party.”

The table also ordered chicken fried steak, fried chicken, and mac and cheese. “The Bible said gluttony is a sin, but he didn’t have that mac and cheese,” she told her fans during the livestream.
