A worker at an Iowa tire plant died on the job after being crushed by a giant tire.
The unidentified woman died Thursday morning while working at Titan International Inc.’s plant after a several-hundred-pound tire fell on her in a tragically freak accident at her workplace, crushing her to death , Des Moines Police confirmed.
The tragic and deadly incident is being investigated by police, QPS Employment Group, as well as Titan Distribution safety teams, the manufacturing company said. QPS is an employment services company that helps workers find temporary and permanent jobs, Who13.com reported.
“Titan deeply regrets to announce the tragic loss of a QPS Employment Group employee who was performing services at our Des Moines, IA facility,” Titan International officials said in a statement.
