Suspect arrested in Key Co-Op Fuel Theft

A Pleasant Hill man is facing felony charges for allegedly stealing over $2,000 in diesel fuel from a Newton business. Newton Police have charged 32 year old Keiny Carreras Rodriguez with 2nd Degree Theft, Identity Theft, and Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. Those are all Class D felonies. On September 16th of this, Newton Police Captain Chris Wing says Key Cooperative contacted the police department and reported an unknown man had fraudulently obtained and used fuel card information to steal about $2,400 of Diesel fuel. The criminal complaint against Rodriguez states the thefts occurred on several occasions this year, between August 27th and September 10th. Captain Wing says Rodriguez was connected to the thefts through security cameras in the area and his black Dodge Ram pick-up. He adds the Pleasant Hill man was arrested without incident.
