Iowa golfers beat Guinness Record for the fastest round of team golf

GRANGER, Iowa — History was made on Sunday at Jester Park in Granger when 62 golfers beat the Guinness World Record for the fastest round of team golf.

They played 18 holes. One golfer tee’d off to about four golfers standing in the fairway. The closest golfer then hits from the fairway to the green, where another four golfers are waiting to putt the ball into the hole.

When successful, the golfers yelled “go” and the next hole began. The players who were at the original hole then ran off to another hole, and the game continued until the ball was putted into hole 18.

The time they needed to beat was 11:55.32, a record set in South Africa in 2022.

The golfers at Jester Park beat the record on their first try, with a time of 11:41.12 seconds. During this attempt, they felt they could do better. So, they decided to keep trying. In the end, the best time they clocked was 10:51.64.
