WEST DES MOINES, Iowa – If you were at Raccoon River Park Sunday, you may have spotted some little superheroes running for a good cause. The Superhero Heart Run returned to Des Moines for its 11th year on Sunday. It’s aimed at raising awareness for congenital heart disease. Hundreds of participants trade in their everyday outfits for capes and masks, because organizers know how it takes the strength of a superhero to face CHD.
