Hannah Krause is ready to take the next step with her elegant skin-care boutique, Eden, in the East Village in Des Moines. The store that specializes in high-end cosmetic and skin-care brands such as Augustinus Bader, Malin+Goetz, Monastery, and L’Occitane expands to include spa services starting next week.
Hardwood floors and a high ceiling frame the boutique that sits on East Sixth Avenue, but the spa slides into the back of the building, with one treatment room upstairs and the changing room and a second treatment room downstairs.
“I wanted it to feel like I could wrap my arms around it at first, and then we’ll kind of see if the demand is there,” Krause said during a tour of the space under construction in September.
The space is designed to be relaxing and transportive, with attention to detail in lighting, sound, and materials.
What types of treatments will Eden Spa offer?
The spa services “will be results-focused with a holistic approach,” Krause said, implementing “facial massage methods like gua sha, lymphatic drainage and buccal massage to create what we call the ‘holistic face lift.’”
